The proclamation recognizes the important role that principals play in leading their schools and ensuring that every student has access to a high-quality education. Principals are responsible for setting the academic tone for their schools, developing and maintaining rigorous academic and curricular goals, and working collaboratively with teachers, parents, and other stakeholders to create a positive learning environment for their students.

“Principals are the heart and soul of our schools. They work tirelessly to create safe and supportive learning environments where students can thrive. Principals Month is a time to recognize and celebrate the hard work and dedication of principals across Alabama. Principals Month also serves as a reminder of the importance of their leadership and their role in our students’ success,” comments CLAS Executive Director Dr. Vic Wilson. “I encourage everyone to join us in celebrating Principals Month by thanking the principals in our communities for everything they do!”

October is National Principals Month, which is an annual recognition program sponsored by the American Federation of School Administrators (AFSA), the National Association of Elementary School Principals (NAESP), and the National Association of Secondary School Principals (NASSP).
