This two-day conference held in three locations throughout the state is designed to meet the specific needs of assistant principals. Attend to enhance skills, explore current trends, and gain insightful information necessary to perform your duties effectively. This conference offers valuable strategies and best practices for compelling leadership to both the novice and experienced assistant principal. Tentative conference content will include: Finding Your Leadership Focus; Thriving and Surviving in School Administration; Latest Legal Issues for School Leaders; Snags in Special Education; School Safety in Uneasy Times; Missteps with Student Discipline: Don’t Let It Trip You Up; Managing Difficult People Before They Manage You; The AP’s Role in Utilizing Data to Improve Student Achievement; AdvancEd Tips for the AP; and Communication: Utilizing Technology to Improve Administrative Duties.
Free Registrations are available to actively employed Assistant Principals on a first come, first serve basis to the first 80 registered at each location and are made available through a grant of Title II and Title V funds for State Level Activities as described in No Child Left Behind Act of 2001, through the Alabama State Department of Education. Attendees accepting FREE registrations must attend the entire conference; if unable to attend the entire conference, attendee will be billed for registration fee.
Pricing: Registration fee is FREE for the first 80 registered actively employed Assistant Principals. After 80 registrations are received, additional registrants will be contacted and given the choice of remaining on a waiting list or paying a $450 registration fee. *If option to pay is chosen, CLAS will bill the address on the registration form for the applicable registration fee.
