Muscle Shoals, Ala: Dr. Chad Holden, principal of Muscle Shoals High School has been named District 7 North High School Principal of the Year sponsored by American Fidelity.
"I'm humbled by the vote of confidence placed in me by my colleagues in District 7 North. We have some outstanding administrators in Northwest Alabama, and I appreciate the network that we have to support each other,” said Dr. Holden. “Whatever success I have achieved as principal of Muscle Shoals High School can definitely be attributed to the awesome work that goes on in our classrooms. That's where the real magic happens, and our teachers and students do an exemplary job every day. It's just an honor to be a part of something special. "

Dr. Holden was interviewed by a Principal of the Year selection committee at the 2018 AASSP/AAMSP Fall Conference in November and was selected as one of three finalists. The other two 2019 High School Principal of the Year finalists are David Sikes of Pike Road High School in Pike Road, AL; and Dr. Travis Schrimsher of Athens High School in Athens, AL. One overall winner will be chosen as the High School Principal of the Year. The High School Principal of the Year will be announced at the beginning of December. The 2019 Principal of the Year will represent Alabama in the National Principal of the Year program sponsored by National Association of Secondary School Principals (NASSP).
The Alabama High School Principal of the Year Award is sponsored by the Alabama Association of Secondary School Principals and American Fidelity.
