Donnie Chambers Named District 2 Middle School Principal of the Year

Dr. Donnie Chambers, principal of Carver Magnet School for Mathematics, Science, and Technology, has been named District 2 Middle School Principal of the Year, sponsored by Jostens.

Carver Magnet School Principal Named District 2 Winner for Middle School Principal of the Year sponsored by Jostens

Dothan, Ala:  Dr. Donnie Chambers, principal of Carver Magnet School for Mathematics, Science, and Technology, has been named District 2 Middle School Principal of the Year, sponsored by Jostens.

Dr. Chambers has worked in education for 20 years. He was a classroom teacher for 12 years teaching at Honeysuckle Middle School, Northview High School, and Dothan High School, all located in Dothan, Alabama. From 2011-2015, he served as an assistant principal at Dothan High and was in charge of curriculum and Federal Programs. Since 2015, Dr. Chambers has been principal at Carver Magnet School for Mathematics, Science, and Technology.

“I am honored to have been chosen the District 2 Middle School Principal of the Year,” said Dr. Chambers. “However, this award is not just a reflection of me, but a reflection of my staff, students, and parents and their collective efforts to become one of the top performing schools in the state. This exemplifies their dedication to making Carver Magnet one of the best schools in Alabama.”

Dothan City Schools Superintendent Dr. Phyllis Edwards said, “The Dothan City School Board Members and I are thrilled to offer our sincere congratulations to Dr. Donnie Chambers. His work with Carver Magnet School has been well-documented.  He and his faculty are leaders in the critical area of STEM.  This is a wonderful honor for Dr. Chambers and the school system.”
