“I feel honored to have been chosen for this award and this could not have been without our staff, students, and community. Our staff works very hard on a daily basis to provide the best education for our students. I feel we have some of the hardest working students in the state. Also, I feel that our community support is amazing, and this is why I am proud to be the Principal of Piedmont Middle School.” stated Hanson.
Hanson will be interviewed by a selection committee at the 2018 AASSP/AAMSP Fall Conference in November. One overall winner will be chosen from the nine district winners and named Alabama Principal of the Year. The 2019 Principal of the Year will represent Alabama in the National Principal of the Year program sponsored by NASSP.
The Alabama Middle School Principal of the Year Award is sponsored by the Alabama Association of Secondary School Principals and Jostens.
Thank you to Jostens for their continued support and recognition of outstanding Alabama public school administrators.
