The Alabama Association of Middle School Principals (AAMSP) recognizes the need to prepare qualified persons to fill the future needs for administration, especially middle school administration. To assist in fulfilling this need, AAMSP will offer four scholarships annually in the amount of $500 each. Two of the scholarships will be for current AAMSP members who are furthering their education in an administrative field. Two more scholarships will be awarded to aspiring administrators who are recommended by a current AAMSP member. The purpose of the scholarships is to assist qualified individuals who wish to pursue or further their education with a degree or certification in the area of administration.

As part of the recognition of the banner schools, CLAS submits news releases to the newspapers in each banner school’s area of the state. Each CLAS Banner School will make a presentation of their outstanding educational program in a breakout session at the CLAS Summer Convention. The banner school principals and superintendents are also recognized at the Awards Luncheon during the CLAS Annual Convention and presented with a CLAS banner to hang in their school. The selection process is made by a committee comprised of school administrators and teachers.
