Alabama Association for Prevention, Attendance, and Support Services (AAPASS)

MISSION:

The Alabama Association for Prevention, Attendance and Support Services invites you to join our diverse organization. Active AAPASS membership consists of those current CLAS members who are presently engaged in the work of school attendance in Alabama. Associate membership includes those professional workers in related areas, and honorary membership is comprised of those persons who have retired from school attendance supervision. It is understood that in many instances, the individual whose primary responsibility is school attendance also has responsibility for other related areas of student support - i.e. student discipline, transportation, athletics, at-risk, safe and drug-free schools, Children's First, character education, etc. Membership is open to professionals who work in any of these areas, either at the local school or district levels. Education personnel who work in these areas of student support are encouraged to consider joining AAPASS, as regional meetings and state conferences focus on equipping administrators with knowledge and information to ensure student school attendance and overall success.

OBJECTIVES:

To promote the programs of any professional person actively working in the area of school attendance
To furnish an organization in which attendance personnel and other related professions may discuss their problems and unite their efforts in promoting the welfare of children.
To study conditions relative to school attendance and promote improvement which shall benefit the children.
To afford an organization through which attendance personnel may work toward better professional relationships.
